Editorial Policy
The rules this site is written under, including the ones that cost us money.
Quick answer
Every commercial claim on this site must be traceable to a named source. Where we cannot confirm something, the page prints "Information not independently verified" instead of a value — a rule enforced by the site's own code, not by editorial discipline alone. We do not publish star ratings, we do not rank operators we have not tested, and we do not sell betting tips.
1. Sourcing
Claims on this site fall into three categories, and each is handled differently.
| Category | Standard applied |
|---|---|
| Verified | Confirmed against a named source, which is listed at the foot of the page. Preference order: the operator's own published information, then official and institutional sources for legal and tax matters, then established independent review databases. |
| Unverified | We looked for it and could not confirm it. The page prints "Information not independently verified" and, where useful, explains what we checked. We never substitute an estimate. |
| Editorial judgement | Our opinion, based on verified facts, and clearly written as opinion rather than as a factual claim. |
Facts about the operator live in a single data file, where each one carries a verification status. The component that displays a fact will only render a value when the status is "verified". If a fact is marked unverified, there is no code path that produces a number on the page. A writer cannot accidentally publish an unsourced figure, because the system will not render one.
2. What we do not publish
- Invented commercial data. No fabricated bonus values, promo codes, paybill numbers, deposit limits, withdrawal times or payout caps.
- Star ratings. We have not funded accounts and tested deposits, withdrawals and dispute handling under controlled conditions. Without that, a score is an opinion wearing the costume of a measurement. We also deliberately omit rating fields from our Review structured data rather than emit a number to win a rich result.
- Rankings of untested operators. We publish a checklist so readers can judge for themselves.
- Betting predictions or tips. Nobody can predict results. Sites that sell this are exploiting readers.
- Currency conversions presented as fixed. Exchange rates move; a converted figure looks authoritative and is wrong within days.
- Claims that betting is a route to income. The arithmetic does not support it.
3. Language rules
Certain phrasing is prohibited across the site because it misrepresents how betting works:
- "Guaranteed win", "sure bet", "sure odds", "fixed match"
- "Risk-free" applied to any bet involving your own money
- "Easy money", "make money betting", "beat the bookmaker"
- Any suggestion that betting can solve a financial problem
- Urgency and pressure framing designed to prompt an immediate deposit
Where an operator's own marketing uses such language, we report that it does so rather than repeating it.
4. Commercial relationships
This site earns affiliate commission on referrals. That relationship is disclosed near every commercial call to action, in the site footer, and in full on our affiliate disclosure page.
Commission never determines:
- Whether we publish a negative finding
- How prominently a risk is displayed
- Whether we describe an operator as licensed in Kenya
- Whether we recommend readers consider alternatives
The clearest evidence of whether an editorial policy is real is what happens when it conflicts with revenue. Ours produced two findings that discourage signups: BetLabel is not licensed in Kenya, and M-Pesa support could not be confirmed. Both appear in the first paragraph of the homepage, the review and the M-Pesa page rather than being buried. That is the policy working as intended.
5. Dates and freshness
Every page shows when it was last checked. Betting terms change frequently, and an undated claim is close to worthless.
- Commercial data is reviewed on a recurring cycle and after any known operator change.
- The "last checked" date changes only when a genuine verification pass has taken place — never as a cosmetic refresh.
- Regulatory and tax content is reviewed when Kenyan law or the annual Finance Act changes.
Current site-wide verification date: .
6. Authorship and review
Content is written by BetLabel Kenya Editorial Team and checked before publication by BetLabel Kenya Compliance Desk, whose role is specifically to challenge any claim that lacks a source and to confirm that responsible gambling and age requirements appear where they should.
7. Corrections
When we get something wrong, we correct the page rather than quietly deleting it, and we update the verification date. If a correction is material — a change to a licensing statement, a payment method or a bonus term — we note what changed.
If you have evidence that contradicts anything here, including first-hand experience of the operator, please tell us. Reader corrections are genuinely useful, particularly on payment methods, where our position is that we could not verify something rather than that it does not exist.
8. Responsible gambling and age
This site is for adults aged 18 and over. Every page carries age and responsible gambling messaging, and no content is designed to appeal to under-18s. We link to support services throughout rather than only on a single page.
