A plain explanation of how this site makes money and what that should mean for how you read it.
Quick answer
BetLabel Kenya earns affiliate commission when readers register with a betting operator through links on this site. It costs you nothing and changes no offer available to you. It does create a financial incentive for us to encourage signups — which is why our editorial rules are enforced in the site's code, and why our most prominent findings about BetLabel are negative ones.
What affiliate marketing is
Betting operators pay commission to websites that send them new customers. When you click a link on this site and register an account, the operator can identify that you came from here and pays us a fee.
Concretely:
- It costs you nothing. No fee, no markup, no worse terms.
- It does not change your offer. You get the same bonus and the same terms you would get by going direct.
- We are paid for the referral, not the outcome. Whether you win or lose does not change what we receive.
- Commercial links are marked with
rel="nofollow sponsored"so search engines can identify them as paid placements.
The conflict of interest, stated plainly
Being paid for signups creates an obvious incentive to make signing up look attractive. That incentive is why so many betting affiliate sites read like advertising: enthusiastic reviews, invented star ratings, risks buried at the bottom, and never a suggestion that you might be better off elsewhere.
We would rather name this problem than pretend we are immune to it. You should read this site, and every affiliate site, knowing that the publisher gets paid when you sign up.
What we do about it
Stating good intentions is easy and worth very little. These are structural measures instead:
- Verification is enforced in code. Facts about the operator carry a verification status in a single data file. Anything marked unverified cannot render a value — the page prints a disclosure line instead. There is no code path that outputs an unsourced number.
- Negative findings go first, not last. BetLabel's absence from Kenya's approved-operator list and our inability to confirm M-Pesa support appear in the opening paragraph of the homepage, the review and the M-Pesa page.
- We publish no ratings. A star rating is the most effective conversion tool an affiliate site has, and we have not done the testing that would justify one. We also omit rating fields from our structured data rather than emit a number to win a rich result.
- We name licensed alternatives. Including on pages where the commercial interest points the other way.
- We tell you how to check us. Every page lists its sources, and our checklist page explicitly invites you to apply it to BetLabel — where it fails on licensing and M-Pesa.
What commission does not affect
- Whether we publish a negative finding
- How prominently we display a risk
- Whether we describe an operator as licensed in Kenya
- Whether we suggest readers consider locally licensed alternatives
- What we say about betting tax, margins or the probability of winning
Where disclosure appears
Beyond this page, the commercial relationship is disclosed in the site footer on every page, next to every call-to-action block, and in the structured data describing this organisation, which states that we are not affiliated with or owned by the operator.
A note on what we are not
BetLabel Kenya is an independent information website. We are not BetLabel, we are not owned by or affiliated with the operator, and we cannot open, manage, verify or recover any betting account on your behalf.
Being an affiliate is a commercial relationship with an operator's marketing programme. It does not make us part of the operator, and it gives us no ability to help with your account, your balance or a dispute. For anything involving an actual account, contact the operator directly.
